About the Opportunity

The NASA Explorer Schools Reduced Gravity Flight Opportunity provides a unique academic experience for NES teachers and students to successfully propose, design, fabricate, fly and evaluate a reduced gravity investigation of their choice.

The NES RGO has been extended to the NASA Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Aerospace Academy (SEMAA).  SEMAA sites are encouraged to submit proposals according to the guidelines and timeline.  Two teams of four educators and an alternate will be competitively selected to travel to Johnson Space Center to fly it on NASA's Reduced Gravity aircraft.

Background Information for Creating an Application

Generating an idea for a microgravity investigation is the first stage in competing for an opportunity “slot.” The idea for a reduced gravity investigation is developed by a team of NES teachers and students as part of a class project.
