CREATING A PROPOSAL

HOW TO APPLY

THE IDEA:
Generating an idea for a microgravity experiment is the first stage in competing for a program "slot." The idea for a reduced gravity experiment is developed by a team of undergraduate students - either as part of a class project or as independent research.

SUBMITTING THE ELECTRONIC LETTER OF INTENT Due September 19, 2007
The Letter of Intent (LOI) is optional and marks the first level of communication the team makes with the program coordinator. The optional LOI serves as preliminary notice that the team plans to submit a proposal for consideration in the upcoming competition. Letters of Intent may be emailed or mailed to:

SUBMITTING THE PROPOSAL: electronically submitted and postmarked By October 31, 2007
A proposal submitted for competition to the program must be presented in the required format, and received by the program coordinator by the specified deadline date. Teams that did not submit an LOI may submit proposals without penalty. Proposals received on-line after the posted deadline will not be reviewed.

ELECTRONIC COPY	1 electronic copy required in .rtf, .doc, or .pdf (Rich Text Format.) Please do not include scanned in images such as letters of endorsement, faculty endorsement letters, etc. in your electronic submission. These items should be mailed along with the paper copy of your proposal.	Electronic copy of proposal should be submitted in .rtf, .doc, or .pdf using the on-line proposal submission form. (APPLY NOW)
PAPER COPY	One complete copy that contains institution's and faculty's letters of endorsement The copy should be in the required format and be securely assembled. The proposal should be as complete as possible. Sections that do not apply to your experiment should be included, but noted as "not applicable to this experiment." Do not omit sections. COPY REQUIREMENTS - provide 1 paper copy and 1 electronic copy (.rtf). Electronic proposals received after the submission deadline will not be considered. Paper copies should be postmarked by the deadline.
